Our People
Bring the Standard
Built by field veterans with deep roots in construction and operations. Our founders have spent careers on the towers, inside the containers, and delivering results on some of the most complex energy projects in the western United States.
A Partnership Six Decades in the Making
Christina and Dean Gainor have been partners since the 10th grade, more than 60 years. The REMS Group is the latest chapter in a shared life built around hard work, deep expertise, and a commitment to doing things right.
Christina & Dean Gainor — Co-Founders
Christina Gainor
Christina provides the operational leadership that keeps The REMS Group running at the highest level. With over 13 years as COO/CEO of Rafter D Corporation, she brings deep expertise in procurement, organizational management, and business development — the infrastructure that lets the technical work shine.
While Dean spent years traveling across the country building some of the largest transmission systems in North America, Christina was the steady foundation that made it all possible, holding everything together with the same strength she brings to REMS today.
Dean Gainor
Dean brings over 50 years of hands-on electrical industry experience. As VP of PAR Electrical's West Transmission Region, he personally led Sunrise Powerlink ($600M), the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project ($400M), and Devers Palo Verde #2 ($300M). That track record; the judgment, field instincts, and network, is what he brings to The REMS Group.
Built From the Field Up —
A Culture That Never Cuts Corners
Every project carries the weight of decades of field experience. Our safety culture isn't a policy, it's how our founders were trained, and what they've passed down through every organization they've built.
Built From the Ground Up
Jeff Mucha — Co-Founder & VP of Operations
Jeff Mucha
Jeff's career spans two decades of technical project management, BESS deployment, and operational leadership; and before any of that, 13 years as a U.S. Air Force Helicopter Flight Engineer on Special Operations and Combat Rescue missions. A Federal 10-point combat decorated veteran, Jeff brings the same discipline and composure under pressure to every project he runs.
He developed the operational core of what became REMS Energy through his work with Vista; serving as Owner's Agent for LS Power on a 40MW BESS facility, then continuing to support the Vista, Gateway, and Diablo Energy storage projects. When Dean recognized what Jeff was building, he stepped in alongside it. What followed is a partnership proven across SDG&E, LS Power, Nextera, and multiple organizations; a track record of delivering real-world results on complex, high-stakes work.
James Payne — VP Business Development
James Payne
James has spent his career on every side of the energy storage equation; as an Asset Manager and Director of O&M at RES for nearly six years, to Operations Director at esVolta managing renewable energy assets at scale. He's also worked with integrators piecing together complex, evolving product lines, and as an IPP managing assets under long-term service agreements. That means he understands the pressures on both sides of the table: the owner/operator trying to maximize performance and uptime, and the technical team working through a system still being refined in real-world conditions.
It's a rare combination in a business development role; and it's what makes the partnerships James builds at The REMS Energy durable. Clients aren't talking to someone who learned the industry from a slide deck. His path crossed Jeff's during their years managing assets; adding another thread to the proven, trusted foundation this team is built on.
The People Who Do the Work
Credentials matter. So does showing up, doing it right, and doing it safely.
John Carpenter
A Navy-trained electronics specialist with a decade of service, John brings component-level precision to every site. His background spans high-voltage fault isolation, full life-cycle equipment accountability at Vitrek, and precision calibration at Cymer and Microprecision. That same attention to detail is exactly why we trust him as our Training Manager; the standard he holds himself to is the standard he builds into the team.
Jeremy Sacolles
Jeremy leads field operations with authority built from years of doing the work himself. Five years as a Commercial Field Service Technician at Tesla Energy — managing large-scale BESS commissioning, preventive maintenance, and multi-site operations; followed by international field work in oil and gas. As Field Service Superintendent at REMS, he makes sure every commitment becomes a result.
Josel Advincula
Over 20 years across power sector operations, high-voltage electrical work, and energy infrastructure spanning the Philippines, UAE, and United States. A licensed Electrical Engineer with a Master of Technology; from 132kV GIS substation commissioning to naval pier circuit breaker maintenance. What defines Josel isn't just the breadth of his experience, it's his dedication to working through complex technical problems until they're fully resolved.
Keeping Everything Running
Behind every field operation is a support structure that keeps parts moving, schedules on track, and nothing falling through the cracks.
Kristen Diaz
Kristen leads warehouse operations for The REMS Group; managing the parts, equipment, and logistics that keep field teams moving. Her organizational rigor is what allows the field side to run without friction. More detail on her background coming soon.
Shannon Stiner
Shannon leads planned maintenance operations; building and tracking the schedules that keep BESS assets performing and compliant. He and Kristen work closely together, forming the backbone of the support structure that connects field execution to operational planning. More detail coming soon.
